The Challenge
Back in 2003, at Interpack in Düsseldorf, FDA Packaging met representatives from Thermo Fisher. Their engineers were looking for a reliable and practical way to package Petri dishes, with equipment that could be maintained in-house and continue operating reliably year after year. The simplicity of our machines immediately appealed to them, and that shared appreciation for practical engineering became the foundation of a long-lasting relationship.

The Solution
FDA Packaging supplied a compact FLEXWRAP Petri dish packaging system, combining reliable performance with a simple, easy-to-maintain design. The machine’s small footprint made installation straightforward, while its straightforward engineering allowed Thermo Fisher’s maintenance teams to service and support the equipment in-house.
The Results
FDA Packaging has supplied machines to Thermo Fisher facilities in Germany, Scotland, Australia, the United States, Canada, Malaysia and China. Repeat orders over many years have resulted in more than 30 machines being installed across the global Thermo Fisher group.
For FDA Packaging, the success of the partnership has always been a source of pride. While we recognise that Thermo Fisher has many choices when selecting equipment suppliers, the continued investment in FDA Packaging machines demonstrates the value of reliability, simplicity and long-term support.
Many of the earliest machines remain in service today, a testament to the philosophy that good engineering does not need to be complicated.
