Who Is FDA Packaging
FDA Packaging was established in Norwich, UK, in 1992 by Peter Hodgkinson. With many years of experience as a Chief Development Engineer in the packaging industry, Peter recognized the pitfalls of conventional packaging machines. These machines were often designed with inferior components, leading to high maintenance costs and frequent repairs. Frustrated with constantly fixing machines for other companies, Peter decided to start his own business.
Peter’s vision was simple: to create packaging machines that were built to last, minimizing the need for ongoing maintenance and repairs. He didn’t want to spend his time traveling to fix machines; he wanted to build them so well that they wouldn’t need frequent servicing. This approach wasn’t the best business model for companies seeking a steady stream of income from repairs, but Peter didn’t care. He was committed to his customers and believed in creating machines that were reliable and durable.
This ethos led to the creation of the FLEXWRAP series, designed around the principles of flexibility, simplicity, and durability. Peter’s dedication to quality and customer satisfaction set the foundation for FDA Packaging’s success.
Today, Peter’s son, Craig Hodgkinson, continues to lead the company, modernizing and improving its efficiency while staying true to his father’s core beliefs. Craig shares Peter’s commitment to robust design and has made updates and improvements to the machines without compromising their fundamental simplicity and ease of maintenance. Under Craig’s leadership, FDA Packaging continues to thrive, delivering high-quality, user-friendly packaging solutions to customers worldwide.
